Default 2012 Road King Classic… tubeless laced wheels. Question

Hello All - I have 2012 tubeless “profile” laced wheels on my Road King Classic. It’s time for new tires. I visited my local HD dealer in St Augustine, Fl. Nobody in the service department had ever heard of tubeless laced wheels. I attempted to purchase new inner rim liners. No one knew anything. One employee claimed I needed tubes. Does anyone here know a good HD part number for the rim inner liner for these wheels? Thanks in advance.

From HD OEM parts page for a 2012 Road King Classic, which you can access, and so can the dealer knot-heads.

Front center valve “rim strip”, part number 43164-05 MSRP $15.49

Rear center valve “rim strip”, part number 43099-09 MSRP $13.49

I searched both part numbers, and both appear to be available on Ebay, NOS HD parts.

You could always try another shop. I know they own several dealers in your area, but probably Hardcore Cycles in Jax. I know they are a Harley Indy shop. Worth a call and might be better labor pricing.

Google it. There pleanty of info there.

First one I saw was basically a laced spoke rim with a bonded rubber over the spoke nipples.

My thoughts are rubber fails. You have a steel rim depending on14 year old rubber and glue.

I would tube it if you can find a tube with proper sized and orientated valve stem.

It not, I would replace them.

.
I believe you are confusing "rim strips" for use with tubes with "rim seal kits" for Profiles wheels
front is 44752-11
rear is 44755-11

I would add that many have changed tires without replacing the seal kit

I could be wrong, but doesn't the kit come with the correct rim strip?

I had those rims on a 2012 Heritage Softail. Loved them. Why did Harley do away with them?
Spoked rims that are tubeless (able to be plugged on the road) is what I always dreamed of.
