‘Hella Mega Tour’ is the perfect pairing of rockin’ and rollin’ as H-D teams with superstar bands to drive new traffic into dealerships.

Harley-Davidson is working really hard to attract new, younger riders to the brand. The MoCo’s latest endeavor involves sponsoring a major rock music tour headlined by three superstar bands: Green Day, Weezer, and Fall Out Boy. The appropriately-named “Hella Mega Tour” is already looking to be one of the most hotly-anticipated events of 2020.

These bands have remained wildly popular for years, especially with younger alternative and rock and roll fans, and it looks like Harley-Davidson hopes this clever partnership will encourage those folks to head down to their local Harley-Davidson dealerships.

It makes a lot of sense when you think about it. Lots of brands have trendy branding that appeals to millennial riders — we’re looking at you Scrambler Ducati — but Harley is taking aim at folks who might not ever step foot into a motorcycle dealership otherwise.

“Harley-Davidson and rock and roll have been synonymous throughout history, so it’s only natural for Harley to present the most epic, full throttle rock tour in history,” says Harley-Davidson’s president, Neil Grimmer.

The tour will start June 13 in Europe before heading to United States beginning July 17 in Seattle and running through the end of August, concluding August 29 in Philadelphia. All three bands recently announced that they will have new album out by the time the tour kicks off. Tickets for the Hella Mega Tour go on sale beginning September 20.

Additionally, Green Day performed a ceremonial kickoff show last week at the world-famous famous Whisky a Go-Go in Los Angeles. By contrast, the actual tour will be a stadium arena affair, with 20 dates spread across the country in huge venues, likely packed to the brim with exactly the sort of customers Harley-Davidson wants. See you at the show!
