Make Your Own Custom Logos & Badges for Your Harley

Your Harley just got more customizable thanks to 3D printing.

One of the best parts of owning a Harley is taking the time to change and modify it to make it match you and your personality perfectly. Black out the exhaust, change the seat, add some more chrome, get new grips or new handlebars. The options for altering your bike are basically endless. This depth of customization makes every bike as unique as its owner, and it helps to bring the community together as we can all appreciate and enjoy the changes and differences between our bikes.

But it’s time to take that customization to the next level. We have found ways to use 3D printing to make your bike more unique than ever before, and it’s cheaper than you expect.

Recently, Ford Motor Company announced that it was going to use 3D printing for making car parts, and we wondered if you could use that same thinking to do smaller projects in your garage. After a few weeks of searching for the right printer, followed by a bit of a wait for shipping, we have been 3D-printing anything and everything we can think of. We organized the garage with socket trays and spray can holders, printed some brake ducts for a friend’s race car, and helped our buddy customize his Corvette.

But then we started digging into motorcycles, and our life was changed forever. You want some new handlebar grips, why not print them in the exact shape you want? You can even put in the logo of your local motorcycle club if you want. We found one pair of Harley grips that have the Colorado flag etched into them. If you are tired of exposed screws, we found a print file that is a domed cap to cover those unsightly protrusions. Print them in black to blend into your bike, or make them stand out with a contrasting color. It’s your bike, do what you want.

Want a throttle lock lever? Print it. A GoPro mount for your handlebars? Print it. An angled license plate mount for your Sportster? Print it!

You can even have custom logos made for the tank, protective headlight covers, and badges for saddle bags. Basically, if you can think of it, you can print it, and we think that is amazing. Since all the parts are plastic, you can have them painted to match your bike’s original paint color, or send them off to be plated in chrome for that extra bit of flash. You already made the bike yours, now 3D printing lets you take it to the next level.
