the round headlights again? I like everything about the Gen2 M8 bikes except the front ends. The Street Glide Limited has one round headlight, but not round passing lights. To me, it looks unfinished. The road glides has never been my favorites, but I could kinda sorta talk myself into a RGL if I had to. But I love the classic front end 3 round lights of the Ultra Limited. Just always been the top tier touring bike from Harley, in my opinion.

Is that look gone for good?

I went from an Ultra Limited to a RGL. The looks kept me away until the current sharknose. After 800 miles, I will not go back to the batwing.
FWIW - I always thought the Street Glide looked like it was "missing" something without the spot lights on each side.

I always thought Willie was laughing at everyone for buying the FLHX when it was so stripped down.

And while I realize you can't make the same thing forever I thought the rear blinkers and spots were iconic. I am a dinosaur but I would have been ok if they kept the old look and just added technology and bigger engine.

As for frame mounted versus fork, sometimes I think it is just Ford vs Chevy. I have not rode FLT I have rode other frame mounted bikes. I am not sure it is that big of deal.

The batwing might be shaped better for your hands , it is on other brands

I think the new batwings don't look as good as the older ones. It is pitch black at night where I live and the spotlamps are a big help, but once I got a bike with LEDs up front they just didn't seem to fan out as much as the older halogens did. I added the crash bar mounted LED fog lights to fill things out. That's one thing I don't like about the newer batwings; some of us are used to passing lamps PLUS fog lamps. With the newer design if the fog lamps aren't good enough there aren't as many upgrades available.

I like the new batwing fairing. What I don't understand is the low profile tires... on a touring bike. What were they thinking?

I agree about the Classic 3 lights. I'm dealing with that myself.
I'm sure the newer fairings spent allot of time in the Wind tunnel.
My personal test driver, AKA The Zig, tells me my SG, with a Chopped Tour Pack on an undisclosed private road, pulled 112 on the limiter and was quite steady.
One really needs to spend some time on the newer ones to really appreciate them.
Simply the best touring Harley's ever...

I'm a huge fan of the new style, all of changes are why I bought one.

It's tough to make predictions, especially about the future

When looking for a used, M8, Ultra Limited, I found a deal on a CVO Street Glide. The prior owner added a few Ultra Limited touches.... a color matched tour pack and front spotlights.

I would have never thought to add those accessories to a Street Glide. I know it's not the same, having owned an Ultra Limited before, and still in possession of an Ultra Classic... but it has the look...

I like the Street Glide lower seat height, albeit with a much better set of aftermarket shocks.

I've learned to live with the low profile tires.

Point being, I didn't need to buy an Ultra Limited after all... I found a guy who made one from a Street Glide... well, close enough for me..

I can't stand the low profile tires on mine.
