NYPD Destroys a Ton of Motorcycles to “Prove a Point”
There’s always two sides to every story, and based on how rapidly this story is spreading all over the Internet, there are more people taking one particular side of this publicity stunt by the New York Police Department.
The City of New York went all high-tech and took it to Facebook Live to stream the death via bull dozer of hundreds of motorcycles and ATVs that were presumably used by stunting maniacs on the sacred streets of Manhattan.
“Mayor Bill de Blasio and NYPD Commissioner Bratton have said repeatedly if you put an illegal all-terrain vehicle, motorbike or scooter on a New York City street, it will be confiscated and one day destroyed,” said the spokesperson leading the mass-destruction of these vehicles online.
Now, while it’s easy to blame the Police and say this serves no purpose, many forum members and people in general have come forward and shared just how unsafe and annoying in general it is to live in neighborhoods ridden by the thugs that turn public roads into their very own X-Games.
Personally, I think selling the vehicles and using the money for more worthy causes would’ve been better use of confiscated property, specially as many of us would love to snatch one of these toys for cheap.
What do you think?
