Rocket II Trike is a Hemi On a Mission

All I could think of when I was watching Jay Leno’s newest YouTube video was, “Wow, that’s a death machine right there.” But surprisingly, neither Leno, nor the mad scientist behind this trike, Tim Cotterill died while riding this behemoth monstrosity.

Let’s get to the stats though. It’s a custom trike using a blown Hemi V8 that puts out 1,000 horsepower. That’s more than McLaren P1, more than a LaFerrari, and almost 200 more than a Porsche 918. In a trike that weighs about as much as an original Volkswagen Beetle. In other words, this trike is truly and utterly insane.

Cotterill used a Torqueflite 3-speed transmission with an additional reverse gear. Just imagine trying to push this bruiser around a parking lot and back it into a space. Scary, I know. The trike itself is called the Rocket II Trike, and Cotterill is also the man behind Leno’s own Tank Car, Blastolene. So to say he hasn’t done anything this crazy before is just a flat out lie. Check out the video below, and just listen to this amazing, and frightening piece of engineering roar to life.

The best part is when Cotterill is explaining the engine and he states the horsepower number and Leno just bursts out laughing.
