Roland Sands is perhaps one of my favorite motorcycle builders. His infusion of old-school engineering with new school design makes for some epically beautiful machines. Throughout his career, Sands have made countless motorcycles to drool over, yet this one, this beautiful Indian Scout is possibly my favorite out of them all.

This bike, as stated above, started off as a new Indian Scout, and has since been turned into the motorcycle you see before you. It’s a throwback to the flat-track racers of old. Except Sands put more time and effort into the rear suspension than anyone would have put in the whole motorcycle back in the day.

It’s a blend of old and new. Part bare knuckle brawler, part comfortable cruiser. It’s the epitome of awesome customs. According to Sands, “In the vision of RSD, we wanted to build a bike that drew a heavier inspiration from the past while also increasing the level of performance. This is that machine, in the raw and unfinished. It’s fitting for the bike, exposed wiring and mangled mass of cooling and radiators complete with zip ties to make its debut at Burning Man.”

Roland Sands, if you’re listening, please I’d like to have a go.
