Summer Guide: Harley Davidson Men’s Gloves
When riding, good gloves are not only important, they are crucial. Gloves not only protect your hands from debris, but they also help to maintain a good grip. In the summer hear, when sweat can really become an issue, that grip function is even more important. Of course, gloves in themselves can become hot. There are options, though, that provide both functionality and style. Harley Davidson’s gloves are designed with motorcycle riding in mind, so they offer both quality and function.
Open Tip

Fingerless gloves are the obvious choice for the summer. Of course, they are essentially made for warm weather riding as they don’t offer protection from the cold for your fingers. Many people find that full gloves restrict their motion (particularly the motion of their fingers), so fingerless gloves also answer their needs. Harley offers 14 different fingerless gloves for men. The ultimate in summer usage are probably the perforated and mesh versions because they allow your hand to breath.
Harley’s perforated gloves feature a padded palm for comfort and cost
list for $35. Also selling for $35, Harley has another type of
perforated glove that they call an “airflow” glove. It’s similar to the
standard perforated variety, though. Harley offers two different nylon
mesh gloves and they each list for $30. There are a number of other
fingerless gloves offered and they are all priced in the $30 and up
range. Some can be purchased online at Harley Davidson’s website, but there are others that can be viewed online, but only purchased in store.
Full Finger

If you opt for the full finger variety, you will not only have gloves
that you can wear in more types of weather, but you’ll have more
choices, too. In Harley Davidson’s 2010 line they offer over 25
different types of fingered gloves (and that’s not including the
gauntlet variety). For summer oriented gear, they do offer mesh, airflow
and perforated, just like in the open tip varieties. Prices for the
full finger gloves start around $40 (mesh) and go upwards from there.
As with the open tip versions, some are available only in-store, but
many can be purchased online.
Gauntlet

Gauntlet gloves probably wouldn’t be the first choice for summer
wear. Harley Davidson doesn’t even offer air flow, mesh or perforated
versions. Still, if you want extra protection, and a more unique style,
gauntlet gloves might be the answer. The 2010 Harley line offers 6
different styles and they are priced from around $50. The waterproof
nylon gauntlet gloves and the Windshielder are available only in store,
but the others can be purchased at dealers or online.
In addition to the other gloves, Harley sells a couple heated gloves.
They might be a good summer option because they can be made warmer in
the winter. They are priced considerably higher, though (in the
$170-185 range). Whatever your particular taste or needs, Harley
Davidson offers gloves that should fill them. Gloves are more than
just style when riding a motorcycle. You can consider them safety
equipment.
