Watch This Harley-Davidson Softail Bobber Come to Life in Minutes
This brand new Harley-Davidson Softail bobber was built to pay tribute to the iconic Knucklehead, and it certainly turned out amazing.
As anyone who’s ever built a bike already knows, that particular process tends to take a while. Starting with something newer helps expedite that process, of course, and there are a lot of other variables involved – such as how much work one is actually performing on their “build.” As for this brand new custom Harley-Davidson Softail bobber from the folks behind the Blockhead YouTube channel, well, it was a bit more involved than average, but now, we can watch the whole thing come tougher in a mere 15 minutes.
As for this inspiration behind this Harley-Davidson Softail bobber, well, that came from MoCo itself, which asked if our host would like to be part of the Born Free show in California recently. The other part of the inspiration came from a desire to make this brand new Heritage Softail look as much like a 1937 Knucklehead as possible, which is a pretty cool idea, if we don’t say so ourselves.
As one might imagine, making a hardtail out of a Softail is a bit of an involved process, but there’s much more to this build than that – rather, it’s also getting a Screamin Eagle 117 upgrade, sporting some freshly custom modified Knucklehead rocker covers – which is obviously a must for a build such as this. Regardless, the end results, well they speak for themselves, as this thing is simply amazing to soak in.
Clearly, the folks at H-D agreed, as this brand new/old Harley-Davidson Softail bobber Knucklehead tribute wound up taking home third place at Born Free Cali, among all of the builders that were invited to the show.
It took a team to get there, along with a lot of long nights and hard labor, but being recognized as one of the very best custom bike builders out there by the folks that have the highest of standards, well, we’d say that makes it all worthwhile. Now, perhaps Harley will be inspired to offer something like this from the factory – or, at least, we sure hope so.
