I have to throw my hat in with the big wheel haters right now. That's only because the super-stretched front ends seem to have stopped.
I never understood how messing with the things that effect handling for cosmetic purposes became a trend. I guess there are only so many areas you can customize on a bike.
I appreciate machining of parts and emphasizing the mechanical aspects of a bike.
I imagine that black parts with the edges machined to be bright will be next. Parts guys seem to be contrast-cutting everything they can right now.
Someone mentioned chaps - as a fashion accessory, absolutely not. As a cold climate necessity, nothing beats them.
As they say, different strokes for different folks. I'm not "irritated" by the style anybody else's bike, but I do sometimes shake my head and wonder why.
I guess I'm more into a style that is comfortable, handles the twisties well and is reliable. I put a lot of miles on my bike and don't worry about it if it's got a lot of bugs splattered on the front. My bike is built for the ride, not to show off at the local bike night.
This is a great thread. I now have a shopping list for my next bike...
A bagger with ape hangers, long *** cholo's, get back whip, huge front wheel, loud *** stereo. And the most important point is a big bore kit so I can blow away the pussies that don't have those things. lol.
