How can they put that back together, seeing that the axle won't go through, & not stop & find the problem?

I am still running the Original Dunlop on the rear. I experienced the same whirring vibration sound while leaning in turns as I did the front Dunlop but it was not as annoying and did not affect handling. I have 17.5k on the rear and it seems it will make it till at least 20k and then I will swap it for a Commander also.

Id like to know that answer too. I can't say for sure that when they replaced the head bearings the axle wouldn't slide in. I put 5,000 miles on it after that job. It road rough in the front end and progressively got worse. Some days worse than others. Almost as if the front end was shifting on me. Finally it stuck in the position where I took the picture. Actually glad it did, that way I knew they would have to fix it. I didn't get an explanation on why it happened. I got the usual " we've seen some new bike misaligned" response. The service manager worked on this bike this time. He said he was a Master Tech. He loosened everything up and lined up the triple trees, forks, and fender. Told me axle slides in easy now. Should be good to go. They told me I owed them nothing for the job. So far, the bike is riding a lot smoother. I'll keep an eye on it. I average 17,000 a year. It won't take long to find out if it's good to go or not. I had almost 97,000 on my 08 I traded in.
