Default New Progressive 490 Shocks

Anyone have any feedback on these? Too aggressive for long rides? I don't ride long distances too often but don't want to get beat up over a long day either.

I haven't seen any information on them until now. From the description it looks like they would be a rough ride on a touring rig.

I considered them but I went with the 444s instead. I just ordered them so I can't rate them yet. Many suspension experts prefer a straight rate spring to a progressive spring. The rebound damping adjustment is a real plus especially at that price point. To me they look a lot like the Legend Revo A shocks.

Thanks for the feedback. I am very interested as they seem like a good option in that price point.

let me know what you think of the 444's with the progressive front suspension.

I ride a 08 Dyna Fatbob and have put on a good 3000mi on my 490S.. they are very adjustable. I like my ride stiffer than most (that's what she said) !!! But to the point of the story last year I had an accident training for a windsurfing race and messed up my shoulder and back.. I've adjust damping a bit, as well as the pre-load and had no issues with 500+mi rides after that.. keep in mind my seat is not the most plushy either (stock 2015 LowRider seat).. but when it comes to harden up the suspension and riding hard damm these works well specially when paired with fork cartridge kit.. I can sustain 120+mph and the bike is fully stable..

Just installed my new 13.5 " Progressive 490s on my 2008 Super Glide. Managed to get a short a ride in and so far it seems to be a big improvement over stock. Hopefully this weekend I will get a chance to see how they are on a longer ride as well as riding 2 up.

I now have 10,000 km (6,000 mi) on these shocks. Huge improvement over stock. Even with passenger and fully loaded for a week long trip I can corner hard and barely feel the weight of the passenger and gear. I got to try it in the black hills and the ride was much better than last year. I've also got Progressive HD springs up front and Burly preload adjusters on the forks. Long rides are a lot more comfortable than stock and they work really well for aggressive riding.

could you run those 13.5 on an 08 fxdb with stock front suspension ? And I guess those only have one size fits all when it comes to weight rating (no hd model) I'm 160 lbs and ride a mix of solo and 2 up with the 130 lbs lady
