2014 Street Glide Special with the Premium Radio (Boom Box 6.5 GT). No sound coming from speakers. What's the fix?

 

Turn the volume up or take it off of mute?

 

Depends, could be many things. The obvious is to ensure your volume is turned up. Then check the settings to make sure you have your audio source sent to the speakers instead of the headset.
What don't you hear? Radio? Music on a USB drive? Navigation prompts? None of the above? No sound out of any of your speakers after, you've eliminated all of previous stuff as a suspect could mean a defect in your infotainment unit.
Worse case scenario, you'd need to repair/replace it. Do you have an ESP or other service plan? If so, and they cover the Boom Audio stuff, let them figure it out.

 

Take off the fairing and check the wiring.

 

I'm sure you have checked but... There is a setting to move the sound from the speakers to the headset... If could be possible you have it piped to the headset you are not using?

 

Do you have an amp? If so, check the fuse in the left side cover.

 

Sound is off of mute. No sound from radio or USB haven't tried navigation, Never set sound to headset, but I will check that. This happened after starting bike for first time this year.

 

6.5 has had a glitch where there is no sound.You shut off bike and restart and sound returns.

 

If the sound is directed to the headset, you'll see the headset icon at the bottom of the screen.

 

Checked to see is sound was on headset and it was. Never set it to this. Must have happened on initial startup of the year. Set to speakers and all is good. Loaded in the latest software update. Thanks for the suggestions. Time to ride!!!!
