Default Jw speaker 8700 evo 2 VS. 8700 evo j

I'm looking at getting the jw speaker 8700 evo j headlight for my 14 sgs. I know the evo 2 comes with the h4 connector and the evo j comes with the h13 connector. The adapter that is on our stock headlight does it have a standard h4 connector that goes to the h9 and h11 or is it something different? If it is different what is the name of the connector to see if they make a adapter that goes to the h13.

What is the 8700 Evo J version? Is this a specific Jeep version? I know they have the 8700 and the 8700 Evo 2. JW Speaker manufactures the standard 8700. It's what they use for the HD Daymaker. JW Speaker designed the HD Daymaker projection LED on the 8700 design. Their Evo 2 is an upgrade from that. You will want to get the 8700 Evo 2 version. I've read here that it's a way better version and upgrade from the 1st gen EVO 8700. Way better light pattern for our bikes that has a better beam patter for lighting up the sides of the road better.

The 8700 evolution J has the halo. More/less for daytime to see the light at a angle. Specs are the same as the evo 2. The "J" has the solid state circuits with the anti flicker built into it. The evo 2 comes with the h4 plug where as the evo J comes with h13 plug which is direct fit for the jeeps. I was wondering what plug is our adapter is before it goes to the h9/h11 plugs. Most people are buying a new adapter with the h4 plug to hook up to the evo 2. I would just buy the adapter to h13 but it is not offered. I really don't want to go from the bike to h4 adapter to the h4/13 adapter. To many connections for something to fail.

Did you make any progress on the 8700 evolution J?

You will remove the dual halogen harness and install an H4 conversion harness in its place. Like so.

That one is Custom Dynamics, also available from Kuryakyn or Harley - all pretty much the same other than the KY one has a 90° plug.

I'm looking at having a plug made to go from the bike to the h13 plug. The h13 plug is jeep specific so they don't have to run the adapter. Either way we have to run the adapter so instead of using (2) adapters I'm going to have one made up. Otherwise I would have to go from the bike to h4 then from h4 to h13. Just a couple of small differences between the evo 2 and the evo j

It would work for the evo2 but not for the evo j. Evo2 has the h4 plug. Evo j has the h13.
