Primary auto tensioner at 70k miles
These forums always publish the bad things that happen. I thought I would share a bit of good news this time around.
Doing my 70 K mile service and decided to pull the outer primary to take a look at the auto tensioner. I have included pictures, the tensioner looks outstanding. it is not notched up very far in it's adjustment range. The shoe looks great without any excessive wear.

Thanks for the good news. I also have a 14 FLHTK with 82,000 miles and I was wondering about that chain tensioner. Guess it should be good for 100,000 miles or more.
Now I'll be thinking about the cam chain tensioners.

While they all deny it my bet is most of the people that continually bash the Harley parts have some financial interest in you buying whatever greatest thing ever they're promoting.
Seems to me the bikes that last the longest are the ones where the owners just ride the thing and leave everything else alone, except the maintenance of course.

I have had good luck with mine also. 35K and in perfect adjustment. I check it every 10K. Lifters and wheel bearings are another story. Replaced lifters at 15K and wheel bearings at 20K. "Junk"!!! My Dyna bearings on a 2001 with 100K are still on the bike and the lifters were only changed because I did cam chain tensioners.
