How tall are you I'm 6'1" and want to get the LRS in dark tint. I was worried about the height and was thinking a 9 or 10 inch, are you looking over it easy.

Default LRS shield scratch easy

I just put my new LRS shield on and found it scratches easy. Just rubbing my fingers on a spot left scratch marks. Anyone else think they are not as hard as the HD shield?

did you buy the new style or old style. The new 2014 ultra elite is made with poly-carbonate and states it is coated on both sides for supreme scratch resistance, the 2014 ultra shield is an aircraft grade acrylic

Default LRS shield scratch easy

I called today to ask about scratches and I made a mistake and did not order the Elite. The ultra is very soft. I think I will try again with the 2014 Elite and drop down to the 11"

I'm 5.10 and need to get out of the buffeting of the stock shield. Would like a tint close to the stock shield as I think it looks best. What shield do I need? I would like to get it right the first time, if that's possible. Thanks in advance.

I would go with the 9" or 10".I am 6' and I found the 12" a little high. The top was right at eye level. GET THE ELITE. The Ultra is soft and will scratch easy.

Just do like the instructions say on LRS site. Everyone has different torso lengths so asking everyone's opinions is only a ballpark figure.
LRS measures from the windshield bolt for proper lengths.
After sitting in the riding position and laying a level on top of the windshield to my upper lip I came up with needing an 11" shield which makes it only 1/2" taller than stock. Still see way over the top and buffeting is totally gone @ any speed. The mail slot does an excellent job and the re-curve shield puts the icing on the cake. A simple add on that Harley could have easily done from the factory.

I installed my 7'' LRS ultra today, overall I like it as far as the wind buffeting goes. I dont care too much on the looks of it but Ill live. I like the looks of the stock but it does not do much as far as the buffeting goes. I'm 5.7'' with a stocky built. I might do my own research and compare, this one w/ HD windspliter and Klock Werks see which one is better of the three.

I'm 6'2" with 34 inseam. I look over the 10 very easily. I bought the Elite Ultra and have wiped it down without seeing any scratches. During the day I can see though the dark shield if needed. I think you would be happy with this shield.
