Wild 1 578 10" Bars, anyone mount them?
Had WO 577s and others on other bikes. Just ordered a set of 578 10" bagger bars for my '14 Limited. I was told by Wild 1 that no extensions of any type are needed, I would suspect they are correct since they sell them. Anyone actually mount a set of these on a 2014 yet??
I installed these bars on my 2014. The clutch and brake lines were fine as well as the wiring harness for the heated grips and TBW. However, I had trouble with the wiring for the left and right controls. Running the wiring inside the bars just didn't leave enough to reach. You can pick up an extension kit at the dealer for $30. I did this and it worked like a charm.
The dealer tried to sell me the TBW replacement that eliminates the connector that is in the middle of the harness. I found that I was able to run the original TBW through the bars with no problem.
I did slightly loosen the banjo bolts on the clutch and brake lines and twist them down slightly to keep the line off my fairing. Be careful not to loosen too much or you'll get air in the lines. I love these bars.
Here are the pics after the install.

Thanks, that's exactly the type info I needed. NAMZ sells extensions for the wiring so I will order that today while I'm waiting for my bars to arrive. Was the extensions your dealer sold you a Harley part or was it NAMZ stuff?? Looks great on your bike.
Gunnysgt, It's a Harley part. I believe the part no is 69200780 but your dealer will know for sure. There are also a few other threads on the forum with pictures of the install and some helpful tips. Good Luck!
Thanks, I ordered a set of extensions from NAMZ, they are only about 50 miles from me tops. I did a search on 578s but no one seemed to have done these on a 2014. I'll save a huge amount not only doin them myself again but since I don't have to change brake lines, I'll save a bundle not bleeding the ABS, that's a job for the dealer.
While your in there the brake and clutch lines are zip tied together, if you remove the ties the lines are plenty long enough. I did the 10" Yaffe bagger bars, no exstensions on the wires, just rerouted.

thank you for the information. I have one quick question concerning the installation when the stock mirrors are removed what do you use to fill the opening for the stock mirrors if any? I see the new mirrors and they look great.
On the 14s the space where the stock mirrors are pretty flat so you can do just about anything to cover the holes, some use caliper inserts, I used the Willie G Skull medallion, Harley has a few stick on goodies that are small enough.
