What did you do to your 18+ softail today?

No today, but last weekend I rode the damn thing for 2000 miles in 60 hours and visited every HD dealership in the UK (England, Wales & Scotland). 29 dealerships in total.
The bike performed flawlessly. However I took it for it's 15K mile service yesterday and they told me the headstock bearings were shot. Fixed under warranty, but damn - they should last more than 15K miles!
Apparently the cause was water ingress and not enough grease. I told them that I have been known to ride the bike in the rain.....

Headstock = steering head, I assume. Did you have any indication that they were on their way out?
