Been thinking about this bike... might be a good fit for me. I understand that the sumping does not appear to be an issue... or rare. And the tran fluid migration does not apply to this bike. Is all this correct... i have read some conflicting reports. Or just hold off until these issues are all addressed by moco?

No problems with mine, almost 2000 miles.

These bikes are just fine... a few at the edges of the bell curve, like anything.
If you hold off to wait for HD to address all their issues, you'll never have a bike.

I'd like to see the "report" that Softails are having the same problems as the touring ones.

I love my Road King, but I have ten times more fun riding the Low Rider.

There are no qualified reports of sumping or transfer with the M8 Softails. The engine cases are not the same as the touring.

3000 Kms on mine hasn't missed a beat, but you must do the Breather Bypass and stop the cheese from entering your motor.
