Default If you had it to do all over again? Which Bike?

In 2005 I bought my first harley. Softail night train.

about 1,000 mods later I'm thinking of a new ride. I always liked the softail because of the size frame. More cozy 2 up riding. But my wife has her own low rider now. So that's not the issue.

I don't care for the softail suspension much about 30,000 miles later. I was thinking maybe low rider s, or even road king type bike.

Another Low Rider or the Low Rider S. The LR is the bike for me.

If I could, I'd start over with another '94 FLSTN, and do it up just like mine. Any bike that's gone the distance mine has and never let me down, deserves much respect.

My fist Harley was a softail deluxe I bought new in 2006 black and white. I kitted it out with easy brackets, half moon passenger and rider footboard, chrome front end and a few other things. Most beautiful bike I've ever seen.

Trouble is I could barley ride it. I'd bottom out a lot and scrape the foot boards with the slightest provocation. A year later I went to a street glide.

If I had to do it over, I would have started on a touring bike.

I would absolutely NOT purchase another Softail with the B engine.

Another '01 or '02 Dyna....or an '84 to '94 FXR.

Nothing else that Harley has built in the last 50 years is worth having.

Nope! Love the softails 5 years ago when I bought them and still love them now. There is no do it all bike and the tourers do not have the low center of gravity that the softails do and weighs more. The softails feel nimble by comparison. With all the hate the softails had been getting over the years with having a smooth counterbalanced engine I find it ironic that soon all Harleys will be counterbalanced

Fresh out of motor school, the best HD I ever had was a '91 FXRTP. Best fairing, best brakes, best handling, best engine, best frame..I rode it for 60,000 miles before it was retired.
