Default Installed Reckless Fairing

I installed the Reckless Fairing last night. Or rather mounted as it just fits into the existing rubber grommets. I had a pigtail extension to my battery so plugged it in that way. I included the two tone paint done at Reckless, Inifinity blue tooth, 4 5 1/4 Polk speakers and the Rockford amp. Weight at around 25lbs. Quality appears good for the fairing. I also ordered the 10" windscreen. That is pretty flimsy and actually a bit too tall. I would just cut it down, but dont like the clear look as much.

So am looking at the cheap recurves on ebay for $20. Edited. Found out will accept a OEM 1998-2012 so ordered a 6" recurve off Amazon in smoke so will see how that works.

Now waiting on my hard bags to be finished painting, mid June.

Have a long ride with both twisties and expressway next weekend so can provide an update on handling and sound at 80 mph.

Looks amazing, Don!

Will look even better with a shorter smoke windscreen.

How do the tunes sound?

Hi Don. Fairing looks great! Do you have a link for the shield you picked up off eBay? I've got a Reckless fairing with the short smoke shield. I like the look but like all men I think I'd benefit from another couple inches. LOL.

Any help? Thanks and ride safe!

I put a cheap screen on my Reckless and don't like it at all. It's a little to tall but the biggest negative is the distortion when looking thru it when coming over a little rise in the road. I'm looking for a shorter high quality one.

What height did you get? I have read that Klock werks makes some of the best with little distortion. Just seems priced high $170. The 10" from Reckless is 2" too tall so hope a 6" recurve will work. I read that the tint is so dark, cant see thru it in any case. So distortion wont matter.

It is a 6" light tint I got off ebay for $20. I'm 5'7" and I can look over it. I would like a 4-5" clear or light tint with a recurve.

Here is the screen. There is a gap showing in the middle where the screw goes through. I need to trim a bit of the bottom tabs so it sits a little lower, but should not be a big deal. It looks a lot better than the clear 10". Will see how it directs the air after this weekend's long ride. I got off Amazon. Amazicha Smoke Tint 6" Windshield Windscreen for Harley Touring Electra Street Glide 1996-2013. $24

Thanks @DonN Any issues with the install? It appears to have quite the bend instead of being flat looking at the pics on Amazon. Does it? I like the look and can't wait to hear your review. Great price too!

No real issues with the install. As mentioned, you can just see the gap in the middle where the indentation allows for the screw to go through. You can go to Amazon and see pic. I just need to trim a little from the tab that extends downward so that the shield will push down another 1/4" lower and hide the gap. the shield itself has a slight bend which follows the curve of the fairing. I will update how it flows the air next week.

Prior to this, I had a LRS in 16" and also had the fangs, which still gave some buffeting. Stock shield had major buffeting so will give comparison next week.
