Alright so long story short I went back and forth with myself, wife and father about keeping or trading in my Street Bob for an older Road King. I want more storage for myself when I go on longer trips as well as to have weekend getaways with the wife (who still isn't up for that idea yet) but instead of losing money on a trade in I want to slowly add bags, a windscreen and eventually maybe a larger gas tank for myself. In the meantime the first thing I want to tackle is larger bags. I have my eye on a few Viking bags and wanted to see if anyone had an opinion on fitment or style as well as actual reviews and pictures of them on similar bikes. The reason I like the Viking bags is because I don't have to worry about changing my exhaust and getting a tune for the bike just yet. It's something I can piece together and if I end up needing more space I can always sell them and get something bigger and more permanent like Advanblack or Hogworkz.
Anyways the three options are Lamellar Vale extra large bags (pic 1). Overall they are the largest hard bags and have a very clean look that matches the top of the fender. My only reservations are that they are very close to the exhaust pipe and it might be really close to both my seat and my passenger seat. However I will be adding a spring seat to my bike soon so I can adjust the height as needed.
Next are the Lamellar Stallion extra large bags (pic 2). The bag is slightly smaller but has a very nice shape to it with the curved back. My only concern is that it might look odd from the rear of the bike given the short fender of the Street Bob and it's still just as high up on the seat and close to the exhaust. It is slightly further back from my seat though.
Lastly is Baldur extra largs bags (pic 3). They're the smallest of the bunch but have the most clearance out of all 3 bags in terms of the exhaust and seat. I've seen videos of these on bikes with step up seats and it definitely matches that seat very well but overall it just doesn't flow as well as the other two.
I'd really appreciate actual pictures of these bags since they seem to only have digital representations of them on the bikes. In the meantime I'll keep scouring the internet for some good photos and I appreciate any advice in advance!
I can't help with pictures, but I had a set of Viking bags on another brand 1600cc cruiser. I was thoroughly impressed with the quality. They were way better than the stock bags on my 19 Heritage.
I had a single viking bag on the left side of the bike. I felt like a larger bag kinda compromised the stripped down look of my 2021 Street Bob. I added a windshield (Love the windshield) and it smoothed the ride at 80+ mph speeds quite a bit. The viking bag has held up really well in the south Louisiana heat and humidity and looks as good as the day I bought it after a proper cleaning. Lastly, I added Memphis Shades wind deflectors on my handlebars which helps on cooler days and spares my knuckles from the occasional rocks thrown by vehicles ahead of me. The windshield was a cheap Chinese product I found on Amazon for about $100. It didn't have sturdy high quality mounting hardware I and had to buy a headlight relocation adaptor separately but I have no complaints. I recently had my front wheel lock up and wrecked the bike. Local Harley dealer is telling me 10-12 week delivery dates on painted parts so my end of May crash cost me a summer of riding.

So I was able to find a few pictures on their website after switching to a different browser (they wouldn't show up in chrome). They don't look too bad IMO. They are a little on the smaller side when you view it with a 2-1 exhaust but it's still much bigger than the bags I currently have on there. I still have a little while to decide before they raise the price back up but I do appreciate the info so far. I saw some old reviews that said the bags peeled and fell apart but it seemed like their older setups. I figured since they're universal I could adjust how far back and forward I want them to be and I can always remove the rear turn signals and go with something integrated into the license plate frame. They do look a little large with the smaller tank on the Bob but I think it's only when you view it from the rear.
Had a pair on my 2018 slim , thought the looked great , H ad to take them off because they bottom out on my axle , 3 to 4 inches away . The quality was excellent and the customer server was good ,

So even with the bags spaced out a few inches they still would hit the axle nut? I am worried about how much they flex and if I’d need to make a stronger bracket.
I’m still 50/50 on bags right now. I may try a sissy bar bag/backpack and get a mount for my springer seat that I’ve had for a while and just enjoy it like that. I made a cardboard mock up of the bag and they’re pretty large even compared to my dads RG bags.
Edit:
Well I changed my mind slightly and decided to go for their Viking Stealth bags and a spring seat bracket from mother road customs. Best of both worlds IMO and these bags are decently larger than what I have, easily removable and don’t require a turn signal relocation. I guess after I get back from deployment I can focus on a windscreen and maybe a bigger tank. Not my bike but hopefully in a few weeks it will be.
