On a UK Sportster that doesn't have the 3 wires going to the front indicators I have fitted the 1156 Custom Dynamics indicator / running light inserts with clear lenses. They have a third wire that I ran with the existing wires in a pvc sleeve.
Under the tank the main wiring harness has the power feeds for the third wire so was easy to add to the connector.

As the instructions say on the ARH website they are not plug and play.
On a 2008 Sportster I have installed HD fog lights. They cost way too much but the reason being they are pretty bright but consume little current so was easy to install to the running light wires intended for the indicators. HD do a bar mount push on push off button which I used so they can be turned off.
