Question Street Glide Fairing Air Deflectors

The new bikes come with fork-mounted air deflectors which work well in moderately cold weather. Our HOG group went out on our New Year's Day ride in sub-40 degree weather and, even with layering and a heated jacket, the air blowing up from under the fairing at highway speeds made my chest very cold. I'll figure out a workaround for now, but it got me thinking about the older bike's fairing mounted defectors. Does anyone know if there are any aftermarket deflectors that would fit the new fairing?

If there were fairing lowers like the previous twin-cooled have, that might be the fix but there's nothing yet.

I know DK Custom sells a tank lift kit and cooling deflector wings designed to allow more air flow under the tank and over the top of the engine to reduce buffeting. In addition, it allows the engine to run cooler with this increased air flow. As per DK, they both work in tandem to redirect the air flow hitting the rider and passenger from underneath.

As far as fairing lowers, I haven’t seen no such animal as of yet.

I bought a set from DK for my '22 Road King and it didn't make any difference at all to felt engine heat or buffeting. With my new SG's vent set just so (about 3/4 open) there is little to no buffeting and engine heat is a thing of the past with the new water-cooled heads.

My post was pretty prophetic in that HD teased new lowers today, but only for the RG. I'm hoping this is only temporary and that one for the SG is on the way as well. I'll be pretty pissed otherwise. It kills me how the RG gets all the aftermarket love despite being an obviously inferior product.

Default 2024+ Street Glide Air Deflector "Wings"

This is a follow-up to one of my posts from a few months ago. Just wondering if anyone has heard of any OEM or aftermarket solutions.

Thanks!

"One of the very few things I'm not crazy about with the '24 Street Glide (left) is the anemic performance of the air deflector "wings" that mount on the lower side edges of the fairing. Even when fully extended, a TON of air comes rushing up from under and around the gas tank.

Not looking for the air to be still as a crypt but I would welcome at least a bit more protection and less wind noise. I've already upgraded the windshield and while it's been light years better than stock, it can only do so much on its own.

HD redesigned the wings for the '25 Street Glide Ultra (right) and I'm wondering if was, in fact, an improvement. Anyone out there who's ridden 'em both and can comment on their comparative effectiveness?"

Sorry, I don't have a problem with the stock air deflectors.

I installed the larger wings recently and after coming back from my first long trip two days ago, a 2,400 mile run from West TN to Miami and back, I can definitively say that yes, they are noticeably better.

The bike is a 24 SG and though it doesn't have the new lowers (yet), it does have engine guard chaps and the new Freedom Shields 13" screen, so my assessment includes all three mods. Nice thing is they are a direct replacement for the OEM deflectors so you only need to buy the left and right wings and reuse the OEM friction hinges.

The HD part numbers (item 17 in the image, 18 for the other side) are 57001886 and 57001887 that cost $48 each. You DO NOT need to purchase item 21 or item 19 (the entire assembly) so don't let your parts person tell you you do. I posted detaild installation steps elsewhere so search for my user name.

I work in a CNC Shop which we have a FARO Arm scanner. This winter I plan on scanning the fairing and hopefully coming up with a design and fitment for the new style fairings. I think that having them on the fairing itself with also help with the death wobble that many people are having.

You can try and buy the StreetGlide Ultra air deflectors a try as they are wider than regular Streetglide ones. They are about 47 each. I had the ones that you showed on the previous post and it really didnt help other than to create/direct air to your armpits. Closing them created more buffeting for me
