Default Stage III speakers w/ Stage II amp

Just do it!
Added the stage III HD fairing speakers to my Stage II amp w/ latest software installed. Took about a half hour to install and made a huge difference in volume and sound quality. A little spendy though paying the MoCo tax.

Oh great.. Someone else saying how good the Stage III speakers are..... Now I'm going to have to upgrade my fairing speakers Been thinkin' about it for a while now.

I only have Stage I speakers in the fairing. I installed the 500w amp and some tour pak speakers. The amp required I replace the stock faring speakers so I needed four speakers. The cost of four Stage II speakers was kind of high, so I cheaped out and bought four Stage I's. (which I regret). I was going to upgrade the fairing to Stage II eventually, but with these new Stage III's out now. I'm going to go that way. Should make a real difference,

Actually, the amp itself doesn't have any Stage rating. It's just called a Rockford Fosgate 500W Primary Amp. https://www.harley-davidson.com/us/e...00w/p/76001294 The Rockford Fosgate speakers are given the stage I, II, and III ratings.

so maybe a dumb question...but can you buy any 6.5' speakers for the fairing or do they have to be specific speakers?

I think anything will bolt in. Pop a speaker out and check the bolt pattern, make sure Harley didn't do something silly.

I will say, you are not getting a lot of value unless you also put in the new amp, and you have very few options in that space.

Harley and the product Volunteer Audio has cobbled together.

I had Cicada’s in the fairing prior to moving them to the rear speaker pods. They fit fine

I believe the Cicadas are a better speaker than the Rockfords , they make decent amps but there's many better speakers out there.

@Taxgod4u I know this is an old thread but, I just completed the installation of a Rockford Fosgate - Primary Amplifier - 500W on my 2025 Street Glide Ultra. My question/issue is that when I go into the sound setup menu the display still shows "P&A Primary Amplifier-1". Shouldn't is say something similar to "Apollo Primary Amplifier"?
