Default Speaker lid question

Have me lids and Biktronics 6x9 speakers mounted but I"m wondering if everyone just drills a hole in a good spot and uses a rubber grommet to run the speaker wires or is there any other good ideas. I have my disconnect located under the seat. Thanks

HogTunes suggest you drill a 3/4" hole near the top front lid latch and use their split grommets. I bought the Biketronics lids and speaker kit, but their instructions don't cover the hole drilling. I found the info on the HogTune's site.
