Has anyone fondled one of these yet? My Biketronics Sony is giving me some annoying issues and this units looks like a good replacement. Mainly wanting the storage compartment to toss a USB jump drive into that is loaded with tunes, needing water reselliency and durability. Don't really need AVC, AM/FM, or iPhone, but the Bluetooth does look neat. Am also not a fan of having a detachable faceplate but this design might be better to resist V-twin vibrations..

SS PN4.520w Picasso amp
BT 7.1 Titan II speakers x4

 

I asked the guys at Dragonfly if they had an ETA on this unit, and they do not yet have one...here's the exact response I got on 5/21:

"We are still trying to get a set in stone answer. Should be soon."

Soo....let's hope "soon" is actually soon. I'd love to see the final specs/features of the -5UBT-H vs. the -5BTH.

 

Dragonfly Cycle Concepts is showing this deck on their Facebook page now, and the deck is up on the Aquatic AV site with a full datasheet and manual available too.

Dragonfly is apparently taking orders: $550

Will this unit charge your device or is it just a 3.5 jack?

Edit: never mind, downloaded the manual and it does charge the device!

 

I finally pulled the trigger and ordered from Rock The Boat Marine Audio today. Placed the order at 9:30 this morning and unit shipped already. I emailed them just to see if it would ship today as the web site did say in stock but you never know. I got a response from Matt within 20 minutes telling me it would ship today and got my tracking information an hour or so later.

I'll write up some sort of review if anyone is interested. It's going into my 2009 Ultra Classic to replace the failed factory head unit. Factory speakers are staying for now. Maybe replace those in the spring. 😉

I'd be interested in the functionality and the readability of the display in sunlight. Also, if you have an iPhone 6 Plus, I'm DEFINITELY interested in knowing how well (if at all) it fits internally!

Install was a breeze, the search function did not work as described with my usb flash drive (must be a formatting issue) but it worked as described with the iPhone via Bluetooth so I'm just going to use it that way until I can figure it out, I actually prefer the bluetooth since you get album artwork on the color screen instead of a usb icon
