Default 2009 Police EG Sound System Question

Hello Everyone! just got through searching this part of the forum and didn't see my question answered so I though I would start a new thread. I have a 2009 police bike (Electra Glide version) and want to add tunes. Just wanted to know if I could keep it simple and use my Ipod/Iphone plugged into an amp without using a head unit? If so some suggestions would be great. Looking for batwing speakers, lower fairing speakers (these will be added this winter) and amp. Mostly listen to classic rock and blues but want as much tight bass as possible from the locations I have chosen.
Thanks

Yes absolutely. Same way folks add tunes to Roadkings.

Some amps even have 3.5mm “Aux" inputs. I’m pretty sure the Cerwin Vega B2 and B4 series has inputs and both are nice amps. Then you could either stash the iPod/iphone and connect a bluetooth handle bar controls, or run the aux cable and mount the ipod/iphone near your hand controls so you an hit skip, next and volume.

get a real head unit. I have an '11 police electra, I tried it without the head unit, its much better with. Also, if you get the biketronics kit, you can get the handlebar controls set up too.

haze324 Thanks for the input. I will see if I can find some place local (or Crutchfield since they are only 2hrs away) that has those amps and try the direct input. Also while looking at the CV website I came across this amp - SRPM700.4D as well. Also thinking about the Kappa Infinity's for the Batwing to start.

Bad Attitude,
What did you not like about the direct input. not being able to control it or the sound. I am not interested in getting different switches. I like the po po setup and I am looking for the stealth approach.
Thanks,
gerby
