So apparently the latest batch of crossovers did not have colored wires and used the dashed wires u see on the tweet itself, and wired the cross contrary to industry standards.
The BT30 should be - is neg and the wire w no marking is the pos.
Now if u have color wire on the cross u should be ok but just make sure the marking on the cross itself matches the color of the wire coming out of it.

Clear on the BT30 tweeter
still confused on the crossovers if they were labeled wrong. I was just matching wiring based on the labels. See pic in above response
Just talked to some high level techs at DD and they swear that the BT30 wiring is in line with the industry standard of - dashes on the wire is the neg and no markings is the pos.
As for the cross, they said that those have always been red and black until this recent batch thus the manufacturer jacked it up.
So yes, the wire on the cross is no bueno but the marking on the cross itself is correct as those markings match the board. Get a red and black marker or tape and put that shix on the cross wires to eliminate the confusion.
If u guys are matching dashes on wires on cross and tweet, u r wiring them out of phase.
T.
even out of phase the tweet should still be pretty loud. Only thing I can think of is a poor connection or a bad crossover. At a LOW volume, bypass the xover and just for a quick second, see if the tweeter is louder.

in phase or out of phase does not affect the output as far as volume. The one thing that MAY affect this is that it is parallel off the mid vs it's own channel, but even then it should still not affect the output volume. All your doing is playing the signal 180° from the woofer .
Seams weird was told once that in phase vs out of phase dose control how bright tweeters will sound BT 6x9 come out of phase and had option to switch to make brighter.JL 8.8 has two setting for tweeter Claims plus 2DB if switched

Phase and attenuation are 2 completely different animals. Technically when reversing polarity you put the sine wave ( output signal) 180° out of phase with the corresponding speaker. That results in a VERY short time delay. There are instances where the affect can be beneficial, and other times really bad. For this case I wouldn't run the parallel tweeter out of phase unless I did so at the xover input. Output would be wired normally. This shouldn't cause any unwanted effect.
If the guys are following the crossover wire striping industry norms, they are going into the crossover AFU then out of the crossover to the tweet AFU again.
My only point is that I think in order to establish a baseline for further troubleshooting, we really should advocate getting everything perfectly wired in phase with all polarities correct as intended then start down a fresh rabbit hole at that point.
Follow the crossover labeling, not the wire striping. For the BT30 tweet, follow industry norms (- is neg and plain wire is pos).
you made me run home and double check mine , I had it right even though crossover is technically set up backwards.
Think what saved me was BT did things backwards and hence I paid attention to crossover labeling. Very good info T ill bet someone has it wrong.
Tailwind, Jace, and the gang,, thanks for the info and input. I thought I had wired them correctly going by the wires on both tweets and cross. This morning, before T posted his findings, I realized I had the crossovers wrong, going negative from tweet to positive on cross and same on the output from the amp. I must have also had a bad connection because after I cut all wires and started my wiring from scratch, I had much better output. I then finished installing the AWs and they sound great. It got dark on me so didn't have time to record a video. I'll do so tomorrow and post it up.
