2013 FLHTK Which 6.5's?
I am going with the Soundstream PN4.1000D amp but am curious which 6.5's to run in the front fairing? I don't have horns and would like to do them at some point but just not sure where I would put them.
I was thinking the Kappas with that amp.....or is there a better option?

What we've got here is a crossroads. If your plans are eventually put horns in, you can't use Kappas. Kappas are a coax that already has a tweeter. Adding a horn to that mix would be horrifying. Horns pair up with a midbass driver. A speaker that's only purpose is to play efficiently and loudly from 85Hz to 10-12KHz. The horns compliment that midbass woofer and play loudly from 3000Hz to 20K. The last thing you want to do is put a full range speaker in front of your face then add more of the top end to it.
So it's time to make a choice. Why not just run the Kappas? They are a good full range speaker that in the not too distant past, was the best thing we could put on these bikes. Theres nothing wrong with running the Kappas! You will achieve a massive improvement at highway speeds and you'll save yourself the headache of trying to tune horns and a woofer...sometimes the easy button is the best button.
There's a myriad of quality full range coax speakers that would match up well with your power source. AD Design CX62, Kappas, even the new Polks that peeps are talking about look interesting. It's not a matter of "better" but a matter of budget, expectations and how far down this rabbit hole you want to dive. Lots of guys are talking about some great 6.5 coax speakers in the tourpak pod thread. All those 6.5s in that conversation are contenders for a really great front stage.

My son has kappas with the sister amp PA RZ4-2000D
he is very happy
But you can Up the game
There is a set of Mille in the for sale threads, you could mount the tweeter in a grill
