I will try resetting the radio today. One more thing I was thinking was using the high level amp input to bypass the line leveler, but wouldn't you know that I don't have the plug for the amp. Bummer. Anyone have a 1000d high level amp plug that can ship to Tampa fla today to help a brother out? I will pay the shipping.

a regular PAC SNI35 is 10 bucks on amazon, best buy might have one. your bike will sound like crap without a LL but you will see if it still cuts out. Can you send pics of your amp settings. How are you measureing/setting it with the DMM.

I have played with the gains so a pic might not help as of now. I had the gains set originally at 21 volts for the Kappas and when I installed the dd's that's where it was still set. I have it set to HPF also.
Here is a pic but keep in mind I disconnected all wires and used one set of RCAs that I switched out with a different brand and I hooked the dd wires straight to the amp to eliminated bad speaker wires.

I disconnected the line leveler and amp and plugged in the factory speakers and no popping or clipping whatsoever at 15 of 17 on the volume

I was thinking from the very beginning it was the BT355 but Mike at Bikeronics was positive it was not the problem. He said it would just shut down completely and not come back on. He thought it was bad speakers and I have now ruled that out.

Are there any tests I can do with the LL to rule it in or out? In my caveman mind it is all that is left since it has done this with 2 different amps, 3 different sets of speakers, 2 different sets of RCAs, and now 2 different sets of 8 ga power and grounds

Ok. So I have eliminated everything I can think of. I removed the powered antenna and reran the remote power wire in case it was causing interference. I talked to Tailwind today and we discussed a few things to try one being the line leveler.

What I did was turn gains all the way down on the LL and the amp, set amp to full pass. Then put the radio at 3/4 volume, I started turning gains up on line leveler then the amp until it cut out. I did this back and forth trying to get some decent sound which I did not. The line leveler should be at about 12 o'clock by default. The best I could get was not even 9 oclock. At 9 oclock on the LL the amp gains we're maybe 11 o'clock which with a meter is in the vacinity for the amp. Tailwind is sending an extra LL he has laying around so I can verify if my LL is defective. Here is a pic of the best I could do with the settings for now. It's not clipping but I also have no volume for the equipment I have. If I could get the LL to default 12oclock I would be golden I think

Update....after chasing everything possible I did find a bad connector on the BT355. At least I think it was the culprit. After setting the gains with a DMM the radio came to life. The DD AWs with the AT28 tweets really sound good. Of course now I need to upgrade the amp.
What amps will make these AWs hit all day with some headroom left? Right now I am running kappa 62.11s in the rear pods and I must say the Kappas sound good back there. I intend to get the CX 62s for the rear pods. So with that in mind give me your top 3 or 4 amps with pros and cons
