Default Gains/Multimeter/What am I doing wrong?

Trying to set the gains on a pn4.520d.
I unhooked all the speaker wires. Turned the radio volume to 75%. Played a 1000hz test tone through Bluetooth from my phone. I touch the red lead to the + and the black lead to the - on all four speaker outputs and get nothing. I have the multimeter set like the picture below.

If I touch the power and ground wires going into the amp I get around 11.5 volts. If I plug the speaker wires back into the amp I get sound out of the speakers.

Thanks! I'm so far out of my scope of practice that I don't even know if that was a dumb question or not.
I got it where I want it. Finally.

Bob2002,
Just make sure u note the target gain setting with a pencil mark and the back the bus up and set the gains by ear using the pencil mark as a reference of maxish. Ur ears don't lie!!!!
Engine running too.

Another simple tip is to do this with the bike running. That 11.5 V for are seeing now is much less than you will see while running. Difference between 11.5V and 13+V you will have while running is extreme. Setting at 11.5 and running at 13+V is a recipe for destruction. Hope this helps
Kris
