After years of Sirius XM on my scoot I've finally thrown in the towel. Since I finished my new build and installed the new head unit I don't need to deal with the constant drop outs associated with the XM signal. I had a micro antenna mounted on the fairing (tried the rear fender too, for greater metal surface contact but no improvement, more on that below) and depending on the direction of travel, even in wide open spaces (no mountains or tree canopies to deal with) I would still get constant drop outs. Signal loss for anywhere from a few seconds to 30 seconds or more were constant.
The same radio in my truck using the dual input antenna, it's a larger mouse with both Satellite and Terrestrial input works flawlessly. I can't recall ever having a drop out with that setup. I believe a big part of the problem is with the Sat signal only. The other problem is that the antenna is only as good as the METAL surface it is mounted to. You need a large metallic surface (as in the roof of my crew cab pickup) to mount your magnetic antenna to in order to get a better ground plane for the signal. Our bikes are not the greatest at accomplishing this. (Reference above comment.)
With my new audio system and using my Spotifty account I have flawless tune delivery.
This is my experience with Sat radio maybe you will find a better solution but for me it just didn't work out.
Good Luck,
Dan

I have the same head unit and Sirius/XM module and it works fine.
I used double sided tape and mounted the antenna on the top of the inner fairing (could also use Velcro). Reception is better that the HD radio/XM module I removed.
The sound quality leaves something to be desired because of the compression/bandwidth issues, but it sounds fine at highway speeds with the volume up.

The color LCD screen is pretty much washed out in sunlight, I couldn't even see the volume when I adjusted it.
I went to the following website and ordered their Day View display protector and while it was no magic bullet, it did make the screen a little more visible in daylight.

When ordering by manufacturer and model number, you can get the protector pre-cut for the Aquatics head unit. Installation is the same as any screen protector.
