Default CV B52 and Hertz MPX 165.3 amp settings advice needed

Going to be installing a set of Mille Pro’s on my 17 RG. Currently running stock HU and a CV B52 amp Looking for a good starting point with the amp settings for this setup.

Also, do these speakers sound better with some air? Should I run them without the pods?

Thank you for your help.

I was instructed by the powers to be on here to set gains at 24.5 volts. I don't recall what they said for crossover nor do I recall where I ended up setting mine. Ran mine with the stock pods and with the brackets and I think I preferred the brackets over the pods. This was on my SG though, not a RG.

Default CV B52 settings

Thanks for the input SSpeeDEMONSS. I'm going to try and get everything tuned tonight, doing it by ear since its all I know. Newb at this.

Can anyone offer up some advice that maybe has experience with this setup or these speakers in general on where I should be as far as amp settings?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Set the amp on HP (High Pass) and start around 80 Hz. Its discussed in the thread "B52 X-over settings with the MM692's". Are you planning on setting your gains with a DVM or by ear?

Yeah D. that's how I've done it, except the last time I added the SS TN 900 in my TP, then Baby Boy came over and used his electronics to give me a baseline. I still fine tuned it by ear. With 1 amp and 1 set of speakers its simple. Set your HU at 3/4 volume, then turn up amp volume till distortion creeps in, then back gains down a little, easy peasy. The best way is with bike running (more voltage) next best is with bike hooked to a charger. I always take a tooth pick and some white paint to mark where the gain **** is set, so you have a reference point, in case you continue to play with the tuning!
