Audio Help
Hi all,
Haven't posted in a while. Got a a new bike, a 2018 Ultra Limited. My first ever with audio system. I've tried reading through some of the threads, but I'm getting bogged down and overwhelmed with info and can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for. I hope I'm not beating a dead horse, but here goes:
Looking to upgrade my stock speakers. No amp(for now), just speakers. I know there are other options, but I plan to stick with Harley stuff, no aftermarket. A few questions:
1. Can I just change to Stage 1 speakers without having the unit re-flashed? Just swap stock for better speakers.
2. Gonna add a quick detach kit to tour pack. I was thinking of coming out of the rear channel (when the pack is removed) and connecting to a set of lower fairing speakers instead. The system would still see all 4 speakers, it'd just be all up front instead of front and rear. Has anyone tried this? I'm thinking of getting the factory harness so it'd be easy to swap back and forth as needed.
3. I read in the instructions for the fairing speaker kit, that if you don't have the radio reprogrammed, it will immediately damage your speakers. Can't quite wrap my head around that one.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks, FD

Not sure what better speakers would serve your needs with no amp. Harley has their proprietary system perfected. Such as it is. Anything you do short of pulling the whole system and going aftermarket is going to be a disaster. The system only sounds right set up the way it's set up with the components it has.
2cts just did brother in-law bike first did just dbmoto speaks nothing else the stock speakers sounded better .then added bt l line levler and jl 280/4 bridged and he is very happy.
i was actually thinking why did I keep going on mine should have been happy but believe this forum is the cause and the fix.
