When it shuts down do you lose the time and date?
I would start with the basics and ensure all connections are good and secure. No rubbed wires.
More specific check your red, yellow, and black wire.

I do not lose time and date. It will quit playing-yet still display song/title-a few seconds later it will shut off-reboot-come back up and continue playing song.

I don't know. I will check that on Wed. I also wonder if the heat is a factor. 90 degrees plus.

Sony claims 32 to 104 degrees operating temperature. The Bluetooth circuit and onboard amp will be first to start messing up in my experience of overheated decks.
