Default 8" lid help

Ok so a guy I work with has got SBD crazy 8 lids and looking for speakers for them He is leaning towards hertz sv200's but I am not familiar with 8's so im asking you guys for advice. I don't think jl 880's will fit in those lids or I would suggest them. If they do fit, let me know. Thanks.

What year bike? There are a few 8” that won’t fit in the 14-up SBD lids, including 880.

Is he looking for thump or more mid range. If thump, I'd look at Hertz 200.L. Midrange maybe the GZ Yellows or PRV.

I don't believe the 880's will sit in those lids.

As you well know, the Hertz love power.

At present time he has an aquatic hu, focal and st125 horns in the faring with crossovers, SBD 6.5 lids with jl 6.5s in the lids. He wants to add lowers that are at the paint shop now. Running a diamond 4v2 amp to what he has now. That will change. He bought a set of SBD crazy 8 lids to get more thump from the rears. I gave him a set of sv's for the lowers and yold him that he will need another amp to run either the lowers or rear 8's. I am not a fan of the 4v2 amp but he wants to keep it for now. I suggested a vadm4 to set behind the diamond to run the lids and run the front off the 4v2. I suggested jl 880 but if they wont fit the a set of hertz sv200l for the lids off a vadm4 bridged. His budget is tight but wants it done right.

If he is looking for some thump out of the lids go with the GZ yellow basket on the least expensive side or the Hertz 200L. Give them some good power.

I know the NVX vadm4 bridged is enough to power the GZ yellow basket, is it enough to power the Hertz 200L's? Thanks.

Depending on how the 200L are set up.
They have an RMS of 250 and 500 max spec.
Freq is 45 to 4500. The lower you cross them the more power they will want to get the lower frequencies to come out clean

I'm in the same scenario, and started looking towards boat speakers. The specs are great, but it throws me off when the Hertz HMX8 sits at 100 w RMS.
