Default Big Surprise

So I kept talking about how I felt my rear stage was being overshadowed by my fronts. I took a $50 gamble and bought a pair of Rockville rm84pro speakers. WHOA....I k kw it's hard to compare a pair of $50 speakers to speakers that are $300 a pair, but damn these sound good. They get loud quickly, and play sub 100hz. I haven't had them out on the road yet, but at 150 watts each, I had to put my ear up to my front speakers to make sure they were working. I am impressed. Only time will tell on the durability.

Rockville is one of the most underrated and most overlooked speakers in the planet. A few of us have known about them for some time and they are always poo-poo'd. "How can a $50 speaker be worth a damn, they must suck"

Until you've had them in your sled you can't really comment. Are they Hertz SVs? No but i bet 90% of the people on this forum to take a blind listen to both and they wouldn't know the difference. Just sayin'.

100% right. I only have one complaint about them and it's minimal. To fit the 6.5 in the fairing, you have to be creative with a grinder. Beyond that, I've ran them and had nothing but good things to say about them. The RVL6kit components are a damn nice sounding kit, the 8's will rip your ears off and give you good 100 hz and up response.

Lots of these sneaky lil gems laying around but if there aren't good margins shops won't touch them and I don't blame them thus it's our job as DIYs to jump in the deep end every so often and test some of this shix. I like a bunch of the Rockville stuff and if any of u fellas have side by sides or ATV, they do damn well in that market as well.

Resilient Sound was another sneaky one we had good luck with. They have a different new 6.5 woofer out that might appeal to the folks wanting a bit more warmth vs the loud. Only 90 spl but I predict with the right watts these also will deliver some good warm comfort music.

Good work GS!!!!

I just put a set of Rockville 8' coax, tower speakers on a buddies side by side, powered by the NVX VADM4 and they sound unreal for a $90 set of 8" speakers with tower mounts. Clear with some punch.

I looked at those. 250 watts each rms and fully waterproof.

Careful on those GS. They will not mount inside a bag facing the wheel and they are not a standard 8" speaker. They are closer to a JL880 clone. I bought a set to mount on an AHB 8" bag mount, spent hours butchering the plastic frame that held said speaker just to get it to fit and i couldn't get it to fit right so i just threw them away. That's the beauty of the Rockville- if they don't work they are so cheap you can literally just throw them away. If I hadn't chopped the hell out of them I could have sent them back at no charge due to their 100% no questions asked satisfaction guarantee. Can't really go wrong with that!

I think ill stick with what i have at the moment, but the 8" without the tower enclosure looks like it would fit in a lid.

yeah i have heard some pretty badazz systems on a SXS using all rockville amp and the tower speakers. I also have heard a good bit of systems in sxs that use MB quart amps and speakers that sounded pretty legit.

I am really considering replacing my lower SV165s the a set of the rm64pros. Im not sure that big magnet would fit though. That's 3x the magnet weight of mmats 601s.

I did some calculations today, and Im only giving those 8s about 115 watts each, and they are loud as hell. Might be a good way to keep some overhead on the amps and speakers.
