Post noise Problem

Bike = 2017 STREET GLIDE S
Head unit = Sony xav-ax7000
Amplifiers & Speakers = Rockford Fosgate HD14RGSG-STAGE2 kit

Pop noise when turning the amplifier on and off

Bike on = pop noise and continuous noise

Bike off = The head unit is off but the amplifier is not off.

After about 5 seconds, the amplifier turns off with pop noise.

Blue remote wire is connected.

Gain setting completed

What is the problem?

and If the speaker is only in front pairing, is the 2 channel setting correct?

Are you using RCA patch cables for the low level signal? I ask because that amp is really meant for speaker level inputs (I have one myself). The issue is your head unit has a built in amp so I don't think you should use them. I just remembered that it has 5v preamp outputs so you may be able to use the low level outputs OK with the amp.

I had a similar noise issue with my setup. Try disconnecting the RCA patch cables going to the amp and see if it pops when you turn the head unit on and off. Also check to see if the ignition noise is still present. If it goes away you may just need a ground loop isolator on each set of RCA preamp outputs coming out of your head unit. I used a pair of PAC SNI-1 isolators and they solved my problem. That pop was loud too!

Here is a link to those parts:
Ground Loop Isolator

When I installed mine I did not need to use either of the ground wires on the main unit.

Good luck.

At the preout of the head unit, an rca cable is connected to the input of the amplifier.

Does the head unit preout say low level?

If so, you are connected at a low level.

The pop noise is almost gone, but there is still a constant noise.

I will buy a Ground Loop Isolator.

Thank you !!

One thing I forgot to mention that is important to verify is that your power and ground wires going to the amp run straight to the battery. If you ground the amp somewhere else that can cause whine.

Just a thought.

One other thing to consider is running a separate ground wire to the chassis of the head unit.

Mike makes a good point. In the old days of car audio a guy once told me to use what he called a "star ground" system. He said to ground each component where it seemed proper and then run another wire connecting each ground point to the others. That way hopefully everything would be at the same potential to the 12v source which should eliminate a lot of ignition whine.
