Default Soundstream Pn4.520D

Anyone update replace theirs with something else.I have the Polk speakers and the stock head unit on my 12 Ultra. Sounds good, but the radio stations I listen to on FM are right in the band of static. Starting to get a little old listening to the same cds and recordings over and over.

Your music source has nothing to do with the amp. Look into an aftermarket headunit with USB, Bluetooth etc. Will sound better too!
Also You can still use an iPod Or phone plugged into the stock unit. Also many budget class D amps degrade the FM. The stinger amp appears to be kinder on FM and not much more $ than the Soundstreams if you can catch it on sale

Understand about the sources, that's actually my issue, I can use everything else BUT fm and the weather band.. The Amp knocked my reception out along the certain bands and happens to be where the decent stations are. Getting ready to pull the cowl and do a handle bar swap and thought about yanking it out and replacing while i was in there. I'm tempted to put it all back stock, that's how much the FM reception sucks with this amp.

SS amps are known for killing FM reception. I had one and it did the same thing. I switched to a stinger amp and FM was back.

But yeah I rarely listen to FM anyway. Mostly usb or phone music now. If I want radio I might stream from iHeart or something like that.

Had 2 SS amps the 350 and the 1000 didn’t lose FM with either. Never use it but didn’t lose it. Reception not the greatest depending on location but that could just be the shorty antenna. Heard better results with the long Oem whip Antenna. Also routing in the wiring channel is sometimes a factor. Ie. don’t run it beside the amp power lines.
