Hi folks;
i am installing lower fairing speakers (stage 3) on my 2024 road glide . I purchased the oem spekaer lower harness kit from Harley.
my motorcycle came with the upper fairing speakers originally..
i updated to the stage 3 upper fairing speakers, and stage 3 primary amp…
i was about to install the wiring for the stage 3 lower fairing speaker .
it appears the connector i need to use (4 light blue wires) is already connected , perhaps to rear speaker harness? I dint have rear speakers, so i i believe this harness is connected irregardless.
has anyone done the lower fairing speaker's and just the upper fairing speakers (making this just a 4 speaker setup)..
i disconnected the existing harness, that i think is just for rears, for future use.. and i believe i need to use that connector for the lowers
Am i correct to disconnect and use the 4 pin molex\deutsch connector?
if it is correct should i cap off the unused side (prevent water or moisture) just in case one day i decide to add another amp snd back speakers.
here are the pictures.the connector is circled yellow, and i disconnected them. I yave not connected the lower fairing y- connector yet
I also posted this in 2024, as suggested and pasted over here...sorry for the repost...
Ok, so i did not get any responses and thought i would circle back..
1) yes that molex connector circled yellow goes to the rear. On a stock 2024 road (skyline) glide with 2 speaker setup will have this “unused” molex\csble slready connected for a nicety. Future proofing.
2) you must have the updated primary amplifier, i have stage 3
3) Configuring speaker is “wonky” to say the least when setting up 4 channel stage 3. Speaker test will reverse some of the speakers. So i did configure and test about 5 times, and on the 5th time it worked
4) wiring through the nose along the frame L\R can be a challenege since existing wires are there. Be patient, its definitely possible. Remove any connectors rather than trying to squeeze them through.
For plug and play it sounds 7.5 out of 10. Maybe an 8 for overall sound. Loudness, depends on helmet\windshield, etc etc..could hear at high speeds.
