Default resistors?

I was told when using the factory HK radio and an after market amp you have to use resistors in line with the line converter or high pass input. Is this true? If so what size resistor? I am using a PPI I320.4.

Negative. Wire the headunit to the amp using either high level inputs or use PAC SNI-15 to convert to RCAs

Thank you sir. I don't know why the guy at ARC audio said you needed them.

Could it be that you misunderstood what he said based on what you actually asked him? Sometimes people think you said one thing when you said/or meant another.

The backstory to the resistor for the ARC mini 125.2.

Apparently, the automatic turn on circuitry of the amp did not recognize that it was connected to the speakers or HK head unit, and, IIRC correctly, the impedance needed was cured by including a small resistor in the + connector to the right speaker. I only know this because the first 125.2 had to be returned because it wouldn't shut off if the yellow, remote turn on wire was actually connected, and the amp would get very hot. The solution was a small resistor wired in series to the output side of the amp to the right speaker that ARC supplied with the new, replacement amp, and not using the yellow remote wire.

So the guy at ARC wasn't giving you necessarily wrong information on the use of the resistor. Apparently, there may be applications were the impedance in the auto on circuit is insufficient, so a resistor is used.

That was about 4 so years ago, so apologies if I don't have everything exactly right; but, I do clearly recall receiving a replacement amp with a speaker wire connector with a resistor wired in series.
