you are correct, no static or FM reception issues with this amp. You need to go back and look at the plug that goes into the back of your radio to make sure it's plugged in all the way and that the connector hasn't seperated. Cheap connectors HD uses so that may be the issue.

do you mean the antenna connectors or the power connectors I pulled the antenna on both ends back of head unit and the screwed end on back and made sure they were in all the way and still get static I tried with my long whip antenna also still get some fuzzy reception and static

very odd indeed. these amps do not cause FM issues.. look under the left side cover where your fusebox is. there you'll find a connection for the antenna as well. make sure it's snug, clean, and tight as well.

what bike is this? if a tourpak is present, also under the liner of the tourpak is yet another connection...

well, sounds like you've got your bases covered then.. only thing left to do is remove amp and see if your FM reception returns. If it does, I'd be on the phone with vendor for a replacement amp.

as it turns out with this and kind of weird but as long as his Powervision (PV-1) was plugged in, FM interference was an issue. Unplug the PV-1 and no FM issues.

Guess it's more than just amps causing these issues...

What kind of head unit do you run? Some off brands radios have horrible output and poor aftermarket antennas cause unanticipated problems as well, just thinking out loud for your bike. I noticed my hidden antenna did nothing for my bike other than waste my money and cause a headache--literally w the static and broken sound it gave!!!

there are at least 1000 posts/threads between audio and touring sections that would have saved you the trouble. :-)

Ultra--what do they say that words when read will save your thousands of hours worth of headaches! Or something like that-- if I would of only read here before I purchased and installed and suffered!!

Thanks for summing it up it was easy at least what I did was confirmed and I didn't have to worry official I was doing something wrong chasing my tail.
