Got me wondering if I used to much....I used about 1" and used cable ties to secure it around the speaker...sound great to me so..
3 thin layers of the 1/16" stuff is all it takes. too much is just as bad as not enough in respect to it doesn't allow proper air-flow and will also smother the magnet which needs to dissipate heat.

I just went out and played a bunch of different music...Genesis, Queen, Deep purple etc...and it kicks *** !!
I have the gain adjusted so I can turn the volume(on most songs) almost all the way up with no distortion...I read that at highway speed you cannot hear distortion so as to save the speakers...I measured the polyfill I put in and its an inch fluffy but wrapped around the speakers ...zip tied its compacted to approx.1//2". IDK...before I take the fairing back off I will give it a little while.
I posted another thread about not being able to hear the music at highway speeds but i think its more of a wind issue than an amp/polyfill issue.
Hi, not to beat a dead horse but need clarification as to the process of properly wrapping speakers with polyfil. Ultra nuts says 3 layers of 1/16 poly. But how is it wrapped? Is it wrapped around the circumference of the speaker leaving the magnet end open and exposed ? Wanna do it once and correctly
I was just at Walmart, the thinnest they had is "low loft" polyester batting, the table on the bag shoes Cotton to be 1/8, low loft to be 1/4", medium to be 1/2" are you finding 1/16"? If this is all I can find, should I use 1 wrap of 1/4, 2 wraps of 1/4, or one wrap of 1/2?
