Disclaimer: I have NO stake in any company on here or anywhere else having anything to do with motorcycle audio or motorcycle anything else and this is only my opinion. If you decide to use my opinion the burden to place a value on said opinion is solely yours.

I would/did get the BT 7.1's.

They handle 125 watts RMS, have 94 db sensitivity, have adapter rings AND grilles included, excellent customer service, made for BT by Hybrid Audio Technologies (who know speakers & have awards to prove it), and with a true lifetime warranty they are a great value, in my opinion, at $300.

Having said all this, the biggest single improvement to my audio system was swapping the HK head unit which doing so will absolutely help any speaker choice.

Your 300x2 will rock the crap out of the 7.1's and you'll never HAVE to buy speakers for your fairing again.

Okay. I could use some education on the value of changing the head unit from the stock HK unit. I always thought the head unit was more of a tuner and sends the outputs to the amp that does most of the magic?

"Garbage in- Garbage out"

The factory unit isn't the upper echelon of audio receivers, so,.......when you amplify that, it only exaggerates the inadequacies !

It does, but the amp is only as good as the signal it receives. It just amplifies what's already there. Kinda like an a-hole inheriting a pile of money, doesn't really change him just makes him a bigger a-hole. Clean signal in...BIG clean signal out; not so clean signal in...BIG not so clean signal out. Most all aftermarket head units will play louder before clipping or distorting than stock. CLEAN power is the key and 4v (or better) RCA preouts go a long way toward achieving this...

What head unit would you recommend? I am dumb to swapping head units...what kind of adapter kit do I need to get and where do I get it...lol? By adapter kit, I am talking to fill in where the head unit was since it is bigger than the average head unit!

Any head unit you prefer for features however I wouldn't fool with anything with less than 4v RCA outputs

Thanks, that makes sense to me. You need a good, clean signal before you amplify it.

I think he is doing what a forum sponsor should be doing and that is promoting his product when he has the opportunity to do so. If you examine the threads you will see that it is the same small group of people over and over again that promote other speakers. Research J&M product inside and outside of this forum and you will find they have a very high rating. I think when it comes to speakers there is a lot of quality product out there and J&M is among them. J&M even though they are a forum sponsor are continually put in a defensive position by a few naysayers who work very hard at promoting another brands on this forum. Be an informed consumer do your homework on them all prior to "pulling the trigger" (just had to use that term

Get on-line and shop around...head units are all about what you need.

Blue tooth
HD
IPOD
USB
ETC

Sony makes some good inexpensive units,..............but all of the top brands have come a long way recently. Pioneer has some cool units too.

With IPODS, IPHONES, PANDORA, HD RADIO, ETC,..........the head units sure have changed a LOT in a short amount of time !!!

You could always go with the 7" flip out too !!! Love mine !!

Good luck in your choices !!!
