Default Thinking of step 2 to my audio

Currently, for my 2012 SG, I have Polk DB651's in my fairing and lowers, Hog Tune tweeters and powered by Soundstream PN4.52OD amp. The sound is great but I'm thinking of more bass; thus 6x9's.

I'm thinking, in order to get a great sharp clear sound I'll need to add the following:
Speakers. Polk DXi690 or DXi691 6x9 speakers ($74.99)
Lid. Mutzua with the capability of 300 watts ($219.00)
Extra Amp. PBR300x2 ($137.00)
Headunit: Pioneer MVH-X360BT ($89.99)
Radio Install Kit Biketronics ($224.96)

Am I accurate with the above projection?

It just occurred to me, with the lids, what happens if I'm caught in the rain? What's an alternative because if I'm caught in the rain and I have speaker lids, I would think that I'm screwed.

What say ya'll?

I would spend a couple dollars extra, and get a little better head unit.

If you want BASS in the back, the Pioneer 6X9 can't be beat.

The RF amp is a good choice.

me personally would stay away from the Matazu speaker lids. They're the same lids that cycle sounds uses, probably where cycle sounds gets them and they are not the best of quality for installation and sealing. Check out the Hogtunes 6x9 lids and as GP pointed out, if you want bass, TS-D6902 Pioneer speakers. If you want leak proof check out the Biketronics 6x9s although a bit more pricey.

As for head unit, man I would really look to another head unit only because of the RCA voltage outputs being 2v. You want something with a minimum of 4v outputs.

These for covering the lids during rain or at night in the elements. Very nice quality.

+1 on Bagger's suggestion.

Not a big fan of dealing with Ed @ Cycle Sounds but he has these hydrophobic covers that simply stretch over your lids and when balled up and stuffed in a saddlebag won't take up any room.

I just ordered them to throw in the saddlebags.

I also looked at those but they say not to be used while riding. Maybe you can though

get better head unit... look at my signature... cool thing about this one (can be found for 150- ish - at the brasilian rain forest) is it has 2 usb ports (ON THE BACK!) and supports apple, BT, etc etc etc.
I ran 2 usb extension cords under the seat. Hook up usb stick(s) and good to go.
do not forget rain cover for head unit (Think I bought the BT one - not that I really need it herein Vegas).

have you used an iPhone or iPod device with it yet? If so, full control over the iX device?

Check out the Sony dsx310 hu. Can be picked up for around 115 on flebay or a little higher on amazon. It's has been a good unit for me. iPod tray, memory stick slot, and Bluetooth.
