Default 1995 harley sporty 883

this bike is new to me paid 1,500 dlr for it. looks great but had a weak spark when looking over found plug/coil wires was rusted changed plugs and wires and coil but bike runs very rich will foul plugs within 5min wont take throttle and lots of bucking and popping thru carb i do not know if this bike had been sitting for long time runs a little better with air cleaner off but not much i can tell some one previous has been in the carb missing mix plug any advice helpful just dont want to spend millions on a perfect looking bad running 1,500 bike lol

Unhappy no onebtalking to me lol

have seen a bunch of folks having the same probs on this forum but not 1 person has said i tried this and it helped lol

Hi from the UK and welcome to HDF. Sounds to me as if you may have one of several problems, but I suggest you post in the Sportster section, where you should get much better coverage. from our experts.

Question

well i pulled carb and a small piece fell out looking like a really small drill bit my jets are 190 and 48 did sumone put in to big of jets but real curious what the drill bit piece is look at my exploded view of carb but never found that part

Unless the pipes and air cleaner have been "opened up",190/48 seems way fat for an 883.-I run that combo in an 80" evo w/hi flo air cleaner and pipes.Only thing in there that would resemble a drill bit would be the needle jet or float pin.Needle jet become unclipped?Someone been "in there" and maybe left a drill bit in there while drilling out holes?????There's no way the float hinge pin can come/fall out.
