New bike to me. Just size
91 flhs. Riding two up I just wanted to pass up a truck. iIt should've taken me over 100mph for a second but it wouldn't reach that 100.
. So being a perfectionist and only getting 32mpg I thought I'd look into the carbs. I don't know if cams were done. All I know is that the motor was overhauled 3k miles ago. The rest of the bike had 80k miles on it
. Dyna 200 ING
Thunder header muffler
Vance and Hines 2 into 1.
These are my findings .
Float level right on
Pilot screw 1 turn out
Pilot jet 50
High speed jet 180
Am I right to Beleive I am running rich?
Haven't read the plugs yet. I changed to 175 high speed and I feel a quicker lead up to high rims.
. Should I try smaller pilot jets?

50 pilot seems a little fat but I don't think that would affect your ability to pass at highway speed. You should have a pilot jet that when all is adjusted and running right, your pilot screw would be about 2 1/2 turns out. 180 or 175 is about right, if 175 and it runs better, then leave it for now but you need to read your plugs...maybe post pics of them.
What needle do you have? What was your float setting? Is the carb clean? Sorry, many questions. YD

Hi, 1990 FLHS owned from new. If you routinely ride at up to 100mph you are not going to get better mpg than you mention! You're riding a barn door after all. Your pilot adjustment at 1 turn is wrong, should be more like 2-2.5 turns. Your current setting could be due to too large a pilot. As for getting your fuelling right, that is something you can either spend the rest of your life doing - or take your bike to a local expert, who can probably do it in an hour or so!
I so like S&S carbs I swapped to one of them - with a 107" attached......
Your bike is an Evo, so do call over in the Evo section and meet up with fellow owners.
