Default mag mar removal and carb conversion

Hey everyone. I just returned from a cross country trip and am less than thrilled with the performance of the old dawg. A 2000 ultra classic flhtcui with a 103 kit on it with power commander3. It has a Mag Marelli system on it and i believe it is giving up.

I have found that NO harley mechanic wants to work on it for its shortcomings and it is impossible to find parts for it. So i am going to swap the efi for a carb. There are various sources of information for parts and the carb I am looking for seems to tough to find as well.

I wish to keep the cruise control and a SE 27934-99 44mm carb may do the trick but there are none on ebay. I need the carb and intake first then i will find the wiring harness and such but i need to big items first.

Can you fine people help me out with a source?

The carburetor is part# 27934-99 and still available new from HD (as of 2 weeks ago anyway). The matching manifold is part# 29635-99 and is obsolete, n/a.

The CV44 carb will NOT accommodate the cruise control because they don't make one with the necessary lever on the shaft. Also, the manifold is discontinued however, if you can find one, the carb to manifold grommets for the 44mm are still available thru MoCo and aftermarket. The 40mm grommets are obsolete.

You're stuck with a CV40 if you want to keep cruise. They occasionally come across ebay with the cruise lever (throttle bracket not so hard to find) you just have to be patient. Finding the servo and module may be a bridge too far unless you're willing to search relentlessly.

I bought a complete kit for my Road King Delphi from Broken Sprocket Garage.
I got the Super E carb and the only other thing I had to source is the carb bracket for the cruise control.

The info here I converted from MM to carb (harleytechtalk.com)says that i can use the cv44 and keep my cruise. yes the thread is from 2010 but the info should be solid.

I glanced thru the pages on that link and did a page word search for 44 and cruise but found nothing. It speaks of a CV40 in the parts list of post #16. Maybe I missed it. I'm not a member there and couldn't search the OP's previous threads.

I'm rather confident they never made a CV44 Screamin Eagle with a cruise lever. I have no idea how an S&S or Mikuni would hook up, strictly a CV guy.

Do update this thread if you will. I'm sure lots of guys here would appreciate the knowledge if you figure out how to make it work without the $2000. kit.

Yes trying to go cheap. I have another bike to ride so i feel like i can take my time here. Zippers has a mag to delphi kit for about 2600 as well but if i can find the oem parts i would rather do that.

These bikes had the option of carb or efi and i have seen a 2000 with carb and over 242kmls on the od. Mine just turned 60k so i feel like there is gobs more left in it. but the efi is way to problematic for my liking.

I have found the 44mm on ebay from Germany but the price and the cruise control issue stops me from pursuing that option.

The CV44 carb can be bought new for $300. assuming they're not on back-order. There weren't on b.o. 2 weeks ago.

Put the part number in search at https://shop.goldstarharley.com/Search.aspx 27934-99

If you can't find an intake, you could maybe go with a Mikuni type manifold and use that style rubber boot for the carb connection.
