Default My first Harley

At 18 years old, I bought my first Harley in early 1973 (Netherlands).
I rode it 40mls (back and forth) to work every day for severall years, and had to selll it when the little one was born.
Never found out what front fender it had. At the time someone told me it came from an Indian, but i doubted that.
When someone knows more about it, I would appreciate it.

Kind of looks like one, could be of European manufacturer? Did you ever pass an Indian with it ?

Hi Kel03,
Where we live, there were very few Indians at that time (still aren't)
so i couldnt compare. I tried to compare all different Chiefs pics online from most early dates, but i found no fender like it.
Thanks for the answer.

Thanks John,
That could mean, the fender was a aftermarket product, and is the reason why i never could find it in pictures on the internet.
The fit and finish was prety good, well crafted.
On the papers of the biike, it said it was a 1943 WLR, but that obviously didnt match with what the previous owner had done with the fenders

Thanks for that info John.
In mid 70th, the speedo would hit 60 on top speed. But the bike was 30 years old, so that would be in the ballpark.
According to the guy I bought it from, he never took the engine apart. Tha part was factory original.
